AAR 2017 ORGANISING CHAIRMAN MESSAGE

DR. AMRAN A RAHMAN

Dear Colleagues and Friends

I am delighted to welcome you to the 18th Congress of the ASEAN Association of Radiology (AAR 2017) to be held from September 28th to 30th 2017 in Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

College of Radiology of Malaysia is extremely proud to host this biennial event which among its aims are to promote cooperation in scientific exchanges and establish closer professional rapport in the region. For this meeting, the theme is ‘Across Borders, Envisioning the Future’. This meeting will incorporate the annual Malaysian Congress of Radiology (MCOR) and for the first time, 4 concurrent tracks are put up to give equal opportunity to the SIG (special interest group) to showcase the respective subspecialty. The interventional SIG through Malaysian Society of Interventional Radiology (MYSIR) will also conduct its annual scientific meeting during the congress. The lectures will include refresher sessions, reporting issues and overview of new developments amongst others. Delegates are also in a treat as the meeting will have speakers from the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and the Asian Oceanian Society of Radiology (AOSR) through the joint International Visiting Professor (IVP) program as well as the Asian Oceanian School of Radiology (AOSOR) joint session.

The venue is in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, a city of contrast and diversity. It is merely a five minute walk to the iconic Petronas Twin Towers and Kuala Lumpur Tower. Getting around in Kuala Lumpur is relatively easy with good transport infrastructure.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the organising committee, invited faculty and sponsors for the support and contributions to the meeting.

Once again I extend my warm greetings to all participants, I believe you will enjoy the meeting and the beautiful city of Kuala Lumpur.

ABOUT THE CONGRESS

This congress will be an interesting and exciting platform for everyone to share their research, experience and knowledge with others and it will be a platform for us to enhance our academic and clinical collaboration with the rest of the world especially with great contribution by all our friends from RSNA / AOSR International Visiting Professor (IVP) and AOSOR members.

The format for the congress includes various Special Interest Group sessions, industry sponsored symposia, oral presentations, poster presentations, AAR-AOSOR Conjoint session and RSNA / AOSR International Visiting Professor (IVP). The comprehensive multi-concurrent session format of the programme is designed to provide sponsors and exhibitors with maximum access to delegates throughout the congress’ duration and with associated advertising and promotional opportunities.

INTENSIVE COURSE ON VASCULAR IMAGING 114

HIMSS AsiaPac16 Conference & Exhibition in Bangkok 23 to 26 Aug 2016

In today’s digital age – more than ever before – the concept of patient-centered care has taken root.

In this care model, there is enhanced healthcare provider and patient interaction aided by IT.

The end result? Improved efficiency, safety, satisfaction and outcomes.

Many healthcare systems are rapidly transforming to adopt a more patient-centered approach to care. Complimenting this effort is the increased involvement from tech-savvy and better-informed patients with their caregivers.

However, achieving digital and patient-centered care is a complex process that requires clear definitions, methods of measurement, adoption of technologies and cultural changes.

Attend HIMSS AsiaPac16 to be equipped with the knowledge you need to get there.
